Silver Ring Thing

“God never ceases to blow every expectation out of the water. Nearly 600 people showed up Wednesday night for the SRT event and over 100 students committed their lives to Christ and hundreds more committed to a life of purity. I couldn’t have asked for more. It was a night I will always remember as a highlight of my experiences in ministry for years to come.”

– Bryan Ball,  Student Ministries Director

Unceasing Prayer

Our student center was transformed last week into an amazing prayer room.   Simply, amazing.  The Under1 Student Ministry team did a fantastic job creating an interactive prayer experience.  The Unceasing Prayer room was open and manned for 168 continuous hours of prayer.  The word we kept hearing over and over as people would describe Unceasing Prayer was UNITY.   It was pretty inspiring to see so many people of all ages participate in praying.   We could tell you more about Unceasing Prayer but we’d rather show you.

It was thrilling to see our youth department involved in a 24/7 week of prayer.  Prayer delights God’s ears, it melts His heart, and it opens His hand.  I know there will be “Fruit that remains”from the young people, and adults, who persevered in prayer this week.

Kudos to Bryan, Zac, and the entire student leadership team for providing an atmosphere that was very conducive to prayer.  Many people remarked that they sensed God’s presence as they entered the room.  As Charles Finney once said, “Prayer bathes the soul in an atmosphere of the divine presence.”   -    Rocky Barra, Lead Pastor

Prison Ministry Book Drive: 2000 books and counting…

(Rocky Barra gives Danny Bartos, our Prison Ministry Director, a hand…)

I’m so thrilled that the people of Connection Church donated over 2,000 books for ministry prisoners.  Those who are incarcerated have a lot of time to read, and it was a joy to collect (and send) so many Bibles, books, study guides, and Christian novels.

Books can be read over and over again, so let’s pray that there will be “Much fruit that remains” that will come from this endeavor, and through your caring for those who are ignored by so many.   — Rocky Barra,  Lead Pastor  Connection Church
