30CC: 30 Day Church Challenge!

During yesterdays services Pastor Rocky rolled out a 30 day church challenge.  We’re being challenged in the following areas over the next 30 days:

  • Community
  • Growth
  • Stewardship
  • Worship
  • Outreach

One of the ways for us to remind ourselves about  30CC  (30 day church challenge) each of us received a coin.   As you can see by these pics, our Pastor isn’t letting his collect dust.

Lets see how creative Connectors can be —  take a pic of yourself and your beloved coin and post to FaceBook (tag it with Connection Church so we won’t miss it) or email to tami@connectionchurch.info.     We’ll be posting them on this blog and on the cover photo of our Connection page on FB!  Ready, Set …

Leadership Summit @ Connection August 9 & 10!

Stupid Human Tricks

We kicked off our series “Stupid Human Tricks”  with the message, “Think Before You Post” and George Favazza sticking quarters up his nose.  Typical Day at Connection… 🙂

Unceasing Prayer

Our student center was transformed last week into an amazing prayer room.   Simply, amazing.  The Under1 Student Ministry team did a fantastic job creating an interactive prayer experience.  The Unceasing Prayer room was open and manned for 168 continuous hours of prayer.  The word we kept hearing over and over as people would describe Unceasing Prayer was UNITY.   It was pretty inspiring to see so many people of all ages participate in praying.   We could tell you more about Unceasing Prayer but we’d rather show you.

It was thrilling to see our youth department involved in a 24/7 week of prayer.  Prayer delights God’s ears, it melts His heart, and it opens His hand.  I know there will be “Fruit that remains”from the young people, and adults, who persevered in prayer this week.

Kudos to Bryan, Zac, and the entire student leadership team for providing an atmosphere that was very conducive to prayer.  Many people remarked that they sensed God’s presence as they entered the room.  As Charles Finney once said, “Prayer bathes the soul in an atmosphere of the divine presence.”   –    Rocky Barra, Lead Pastor

Prison Ministry Book Drive: 2000 books and counting…

(Rocky Barra gives Danny Bartos, our Prison Ministry Director, a hand…)

I’m so thrilled that the people of Connection Church donated over 2,000 books for ministry prisoners.  Those who are incarcerated have a lot of time to read, and it was a joy to collect (and send) so many Bibles, books, study guides, and Christian novels.

Books can be read over and over again, so let’s pray that there will be “Much fruit that remains” that will come from this endeavor, and through your caring for those who are ignored by so many.   — Rocky Barra,  Lead Pastor  Connection Church

2012: Year of Connection

We kicked off 2012 as the “Year of Connection” at Connection Church yesterday.

What does that mean?  It means that we are pulling out all the stops to create onramps and environments for you to connect!

Our Connection Cafe officially opens on January 8th….we gave free samples yesterday and the reviews have been “Yes!”

We’ve also added seating for close to 70 people in the mallway and created a Guest Reception area for our 1,2,3 time guests each Sunday.
